Hi everyone,
I am sad today to announce that I will be retiring from designing. We leave in a little over a week to Colorado to get my 2 stepsons, they will be coming to Texas to live with us. My husband and I have decided that we are going to be homeschooling our 5 children, and it is going to be taking up most of my time. I have been thinking about this for a couple months now, and know that this is the right decision for our family. I am excited and look forward to this new chapter in our lives, but at the same time I am sad to be leaving this one. When Curtis and I started Scrap That Idea a few years ago, I never dreamed that it would do as well as it has. Of course as it has gotten bigger it has taken more time. A few months back Vicki took control of the store, and she has come to the realization that it is taking up too much of her time as well. As a result Scrap That Idea will be closing at the end of June.

I want to thank you all for your support and friendship over the years. It has been a lot of fun getting to know different people from all over the world.
I will be leaving my FREEBIES up until the end of July, after that I will be taking them down as I will not continue to pay for my server host. So grab the freebies that you want before then.

Hi everyone!! I wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing? We are doing well, tomorrow is the start of our Spring Break!! Yay!!! I absolutely LOVE when my kids are home with me! It is gonna be so nice, just wish the hubby could join us! :( He does get Wednesday off though, so we will be headed to Sea World! =)
We are also thinking of getting season passes to Fiesta Texas (Six Flags) this year, as well as passes to the pools on the base. We are gonna have a FUN summer~! (and stay cool!)

Hello everyone! Wow I didn't realize that I have been gone for so long! We have had a lot going on the last few weeks, it has been pretty rough. Last Monday night we noticed that our little Rex (the rat) had some swelling by his ear, so Curt took him the the vet Tuesday morning. Turned out the little guy had a tumor near his inner ear, and because of where it was located they couldn't remove it. It was a really hard week watching our little guys health go downhill. By Saturday he was having trouble breathing, so Curt and I took him back to the vet, and put him out of his pain. It was REALLY hard and my whole family was really upset. Everyone seems to be doing better...it gets a bit easier with each passing day. We sure miss the little guy though!
During that same week on Wednesday, we took our kitty, Wally, to the vet for a teeth cleaning. I got a call from the vet that afternoon telling me that Wally had some kind of disorder (I can't remember what they called it) where his bone was eating away the enamel on his teeth, and it looked like there were big bites out of a bunch of his teeth. So they had to extract FIVE of his teeth. Poor little guy! He is only 3 years old! :(
Sooooo that is a bit of what has been going on in our house! LOL! Not too fun!
On the brightside...I do have a new kit for you all FINALLY! It is called "Always and Forever" and I really had fun making it, hope you like!~ Take a peek:

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a great weekend!! In the US it is Labor Day weekend...so we get a long one. woo hoo! Went to a really fun BBQ at a friends house yesterday. Kids got to swim in their pool, and Curt got to go for a spin in his friends Corvette. lol! Hi everyone! Long time no see! My kids started school this week, they are all adjusting really well. I am so glad! Brayden started tackle football, he has been practicing twice a day- but he loves it. Now there is no way that I would work out for hours in a helmet in 100 degree weather + humidity! I am so proud of him!
Now that they are in school I am hoping to be able to get more designing work done! yay! I am still volunteering at their schools, but it sure is quiet here the rest of the time.

Hi everyone! Can you believe that summer is almost over? I am SO sad!! Not only does that mean that the kids have to go back to school, Ben and Kyle also have to go back to Colorado on Monday. :(

Well inbetween trips to Sea World and the Beach I was able to get a new kit done...it is called "Princess and Daddy" and once again the doodles were drawn just for me by the awesome Coley of Twin Stitchers!

Hi everyone!! Long time no see! We are finally here in San Antonio, it is gorgeous here...and HOT! :)
We are getting used to it though! Here is a picture of my hubby and kiddos at our new favorite place- Sea World (which happens to just be 2 minutes from our house)

We are settling into our new place, still have some boxes and nothing hung on the walls or anything yet, but we are getting there.

Hi everyone!! Hubby had to take our son to the Dr. this morning cause his ear is bothering him. Turns out he has 'swimmers ear' and the start of an infection in his inner ear. Hi everyone!!! Well we had Calista's Kindergarten graduation today...I even made it through it without crying. Came really close a couple of times....but I was strong! lol

This is her boat that we made..it says SS Calista on the side. The theme of her graduations was "Sailing into First Grade"

I can't believe that my baby is going to be in first grade!!!!!

World Soccer Promo and a "new" retired FREEBIE

Today, I wanted to tell you about our brand new exciting promo. As some of you will know, the Soccer World Cup kicks off on 11th June in South Africa. There are 32 countries taking part including each of the home countries of our four designers - South Africa, England, USA and Australia. We thought it would be great fun to run a promo in line with the tournament and get everyone involved with a chance to win gift certificates, discounts to the store and a participation freebie!

How do you take part, I hear you cry?! Well, we have opened up a section of our CT forum to everyone so that we can all keep track of what's happening with the promo and chat with you all about any questions you have for the designers in the store or the creative teams. This forum will be active for the duration of the promo (until July 11th) and if it's popular and well used, we may consider extending that! You need to go to the forum here and register for access and once accepted, go here to register for the promo itself BEFORE the end of the day on 9th June (two days before the tournament begins). You will need to wait for activation of your account before you can register for the promo - this is being done manually to make sure we don't get spammers, so please bear with us if you have to wait a few hours :)

All the details of the promo are included in the forum - it explains the prizes, it will be where you get your freebie mini kit designed by me for participation and where you can ask quesions of the designers and creative team members!
